Charles F. Hefton, 79, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away at his home Wednesday, January 1, 2020, surrounded by his beloved family.  Born April 20, 1941, in El Dorado, Kansas, he was the eldest son of the late Grant Hefton and Grace (Liggett) Hefton.

In 1960, Charles began his lifetime career as a minister starting in the four corners area of Colorado and, over the years, moving throughout the western slope and eventually up to Greeley, Colorado.  Over his ministry, he served in many leadership roles including the Colorado State Board of Education, Colorado President for the National Association of Evangelicals, Executive Presbyter for the Rocky Mountain Network, Colorado President for the National Association of Parliamentarians, the Colorado State Chaplaincy Board and on the Parliamentary Committee for the General Council of the Assemblies of God.  In 1998, Charles founded Life Builders LLC. and over the past 20 years has worked with hundreds of people and organizations as a Leadership & Life Coach.  He was always very active in his local community; announcing high school sports on the local radio station, participating in Chamber and Rotary clubs, volunteering at the heart hospital, as well as multiple other activities.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, singing quartet music, playing guitar and golfing with his grandson. Charles loved people and always found his place amongst them…He was the ultimate encourager.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Glennis Hefton; along with his two daughters, Lora Hefton and Felicity Hefton; grandson, Charlie Jehnichen; brothers Joe Hefton and Ed Hefton; sisters, Barbara Hadsell (husband Ken), Mary Reed (husband John), Margie Inskeep (husband Lawrence) and Martha Musselman and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Chet Hefton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Highpoint Church, 6450 S
Southlands Pkwy,  Aurora, CO  80016.

    Sad but very glad he is home all at the same time!! Pastor Charles was a great man and I have many fond memories of him! I’m sure my mom and dad were there to meet him! Welcome home son…job well done; life well lived.

    So very sad but glad he is with his Heavenly Father. He was such a wonderful person and friend. Many memories of him through the church and athletic events with my children. He officiated the family memorial service for my husband, Bud, when we lived in Greeley. He is praising the Lord with Jesus!!!! He will be greatly missed.

    This man was truly a great lover of God. He will be missed. I sat under a teaching he gave and it was great. Glennis and family God bless you in this time of need, but he was such a good friend of mine and I will never forget him. Love you all.
