Richard Dean Clore died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Mesa, Arizona, where he had his home since 1984. He suffered from memory issues of either Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. He was 83. He was the son of Vernis and Rowena (Finch) Clore. Richard was married to his soulmate and sweetheart of 63 years, Grace. They married in 1953, and were engaged for two years prior to marriage. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brother Keith Clore; and sister Irene (Clore) Bodine.He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950.

Richard was a printer for more than 30 years of his life. He worked at several printing companies, including RR Donnelley and Sons at Crawfordsville. He also worked at a printing company called AAMPAC at Mesa, Arizona. He built three homes, and one was an underground home in which he had a Davis Caves franchise. He worked on several other houses where he and his family lived over the years. He started The Aquarian newspaper at Veedersburg in the 1970s.

He loved big band music and would talk about how the Four Freshmen began in 1948 in Indiana. He was able to meet the group in January this year at a concert. He is survived by his wife Grace. They had a son, Jeffrey (Roxann), with one grandchild Linsey. Their daughter is Julia Beall (Brian). Richard has many nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Donations may be sent to Julia Beall, P.O. Box 13722, Mesa, AZ 85216-3722. He was cremated and his services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Mountain View Cemetery and Funeral Home, Mesa, Arizona.
