Rhea Jean Jackson, 88, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on January 29, 2019.  She was born October 10, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa to Bernard and Evelyn Brokaw.  Rhea attended high school in Minburn, Iowa and moved to Mesa in 1971 with her husband and two children.

She is survived by son Rick (Candace), daughter Sherri Advincula (Bob), brother Roger Brokaw, sister Judy Stickel, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren all of whom she was so proud. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and brother Keith Brokaw.

Rhea enjoyed camping, traveling, knitting and ceramics.  She collected angels and butterflies. She loved her job as bookkeeper for a construction company and was very good at it.  She led by example and was the rock that gave foundation to our lives.  Her priority was her family and friends.  When in need, she was there.

The last three years weren’t easy for her, but she found ways to keep fighting and stay positive.  Rhea had the biggest and kindest heart than any person we’ve ever known and her legacy will carry on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rhea gave us all so many great memories to look back on. She is once again holding her husband’s hand and dancing the jitterbug in heaven.  Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior, at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ (480-832-2850). As Mom would say, “I’ll talk to you tomorrow”.

  1. Rick, Sherri, and families,
Sending our love and prayers to all of you at this time and hope you will be comforted by so many wonderful memories of your mother and grandmother. Aunt Rhea was always very caring and loving and now has the great joy of being reunited with your dad in Heaven. I loved the mention of them doing the jitterbug, because they truly loved that era ! I’m sorry I do not have an address for you. God Bless all……
    LaRee & Bob and family
