Pete H. Lomeli “Surdo”

June 29, 1925 – September 20, 2020


Pete H. Lomeli “Surdo”, passed away September 20, 2020 at the age of 95.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen, of 71 years.  He is survived by a son, Chris and daughter, Linda Campos (Merced), nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pete worked for Kennecott-Ray Mines Division for 47 years as a boiler maker.  He was a pitcher for the Ray-Sonora Tigers during 1949-1951.  The team was inducted into the Arizona Hispanic Sports Hall of Fame.  Having had an interest in sports, he became an avid outdoorsman. Pete was also a competitive pistol shooter, golfer and enjoyed hunting, archery and was a great handyman.  Pete will be deeply missed.
