Martin Karkula Obituary

Martin Karkula, 88, of Chandler, AZ passed away Friday, November 27, 2015. Martin was born on June 8, 1927 in Weslaco, TX to parents John J. and Bessie Karkula. Martin was a Veteran, serving in the National Guard, followed by enlisting in the Army during the Korean War. Martin was a lineman by trade. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Melva, Helen, Eva, Gracie, Delia, Richard and Harold. Surviving siblings are Anna Wallace and Ernie Karkula. Martin is the uncle to over 80 nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. He lived the majority of his life in Chandler with stops in Texas and Utah. Martin was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing and being with family. Services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207. Services will then continue graveside, where military honors will be rendered.
