Gloria M. Flora beloved wife to Richard V Flora, and mother of Rick Flora, Sally DeGryse, and Robert Flora, went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2018. Gloria was born January 4, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Richard in October 2, 1947, they celebrated 68 1/2 wonderful years together. Mom’s faith in the Lord made her the rock of our family and to all others she met over the years. She always had a smile for everyone she met. She was as they say a jack of all trades, she was a camp cook for 2 Baptist church camps in Arizona. Then continued her travels on Dad’s motorcycle with the Christian Motorcycle Association for 20 years. She was a major part in the making of the CMA leather patches “Riding for the son”. Worn by many people throughout the United States. They then moved to Thorold, Ontario Canada for 10 years. Finally returning to the mountains they fell in love with in 1960 when mom turned to dad and said “We’re home “. With her family she eagerly hiked the various parts of the Superstition Mountains. Cooking over a camp fire with a gun strapped on her hip. Mom loved her ceramics, and won numerous awards for her pieces. Gloria was a mother of 3, grandmother of 7, great grandmother of 8, and a great, great, grandmother of 2. Gloria Flora was an amazing woman, and will be missed by all who knew her. The viewing will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 and Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery and Funeral Home, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207.
