David William Barnes Sr, 63, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away, Thursday, August 31th, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

David was born in Fresno California to parents Ellsworth and Juanita Barnes in 1954. Dave was a Master plumber for his entire adult life. Dave loved to entertain his family and friends at his home in Mesa AZ that he shared with his wife Meg (Vassallo) Barnes. He was the “King” of deep fried turkeys at Thanksgiving block parties. It was always one of Dave’s dreams to travel the United States and live in a RV. For the last 2 years he’s been doing just that, visiting and making new friends & family along the way. He traveled with Meg, his Australian Shepherd Red and his 2 cats Dusty and Mr Grey.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Ellsworth & Juanita Barnes. He is survived by his wife Meg (Vassallo) Barnes. His sons David Barnes Jr (daughter-in-law  Amanda Barnes) of San Tan Valley AZ and Bobby Barnes (daughter-in-law Melissa Barnes) of San Tan Valley AZ. Sisters Joyce Clarke (brother-in-law Clyde Clarke) of Reedley CA, Sharon Rosa of Clovis, CA and Sandy Rogers (brother-in-law Tom Rogers) of Fresno, CA. Grandchildren David Barnes III of Fresno, CA, Zachary Penrod of Globe, AZ, Madison Barnes and Masen Barnes of San Tan Valley, AZ. Great Granddaughter Alyna Marie Adine of Fresno, CA, and Isabella Barnes of Fresno, CA and many other nieces and nephews.

He shall be missed by all.

Memorial service will be held September 8th at 11am at Mountain View Mortuary Chapel 7900 E Main Mesa AZ 85207. A Celebration of Life party will be held immediately following at Handlebar J’s Bar & Grill 7116 E Becker Ln Scottsdale AZ 85254

In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dave’s name to American Cancer Society, Hospice of the Valley or Best Friends Animal Society.
