Bonnie Jean Elizabeth Sornberger, 68, passed away November 24, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born May 4, 1949 in Mendota, Illinois to Catherine and LeRoy Hahn; the seventh of seven children.
Raised as a farmer’s daughter, she married Jeff Sornberger on April 30, 1972. Bonnie graduated from Northern Illinois University in May of 1988. She had three sons, Sean (Stacey) Sornberger, Jeff Sornberger II, and Ryan and six granddaughters, who were the loves of her life. She taught many students in Illinois and Arizona with great care for them and she took great joy in her dogs, Randi and Willie. Bonnie was a dedicated Catholic.
There will be a private service at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona at a later date.
I wanted to send my condolences to Jeff, Sean, Jeffrey and Ryan. I was so sad to see Bonnie’s obituary in the Daily Gazette in Sterling. Bonnie was such a good friend to me when we were going to Northern Illinois University to get our teaching degrees, and long after. Jeff and Bonnie, you were supportive to me and my girls and I just want to thank you again for that. Please know that I loved Bonnie, and my heart aches for all of you.
