Gene Alan Uren 77. On May 24, 2010 Gene was taken by the Lord to be reunited with his beloved wife of 53 years, Juanita, who had preceded him in death four months earlier. Gene was born February 5, 1933 in Bakersfield, CA. He was the only son of Fred and Ernestine Ausel Uren. Gene was an honorable veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed by Pacific Bell for 30 years. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge serving as Master of the Sacramento CA Oak Plains Lodge #789 in 1979. He was also active in the Sacramento Scottish Rite and served as Master of the Royal Secret in 1974. Gene was also a Noble of the Ben Ali Mystic Shrine and played in the band. Gene had one sister, Patsy Uren Outlaw who preceded him in death in 2009. Gene is survived by a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frederick and Bonnie Boye of Mesa, AZ and nephews James Outlaw and wife Cheryl of Edgewater Maryland, Samuel Outlaw of North Carolina, Thomas Outlaw and wife Leona of North Carolina and John Outlaw and wife Donna of Rose Hill North Carolina. Gene and Juanita loved to travel the globe on various cruises. They have been joined together again to cruise for eternity. His Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
