Mr. Richard (Dick) Charles Ayers, born on December 23, 1935 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Dorothy Imhoff and the late Louis W Ayers, passed away at age 82 on October 6, 2018 in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Richard attended Akron University. He served as a United States Marine during the Korean War and served 10 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was a Sales Manager in the Semi Conductor industry until retiring in 1991. Richard was the beloved husband of Diane E Ayers. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Haney. Richard is survived by his son, Richard C Ayers Jr.; daughter, Lori Anne (Ayers) Polk; stepdaughters, Arlene J Tarbuskovich and Janet L Amaral; brother, James Ayers; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Angela, Joshua, Andrew, Bradley, James, and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Kenny, Courtney, Christopher, Miranda, Edwin, Connor, Aaliyah, Kolby, and Kalli. He also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Nelli and Eskoshi. He had a passion for and flew as an aerobatic pilot winning several awards. He also built the aerobatic plane in which he flew. He loved traveling and had visited more than 66 countries. He was a fishing enthusiast, a woodcarver, and enjoyed leather tooling. The family invites donations in Richard’s name to Cancer Research Fund. The burial and military service will be a private service at the National Memorial Cemetary of Arizona.
