On Sunday, May 26, 2019, Nelson J. Menard, loving husband & father of three, passed away surrounded by family and friends, at his home in Mesa, Arizona, after finally succumbing to his battle with prostate cancer.

Nelson was born December 06, 1944 to the late Edith (Carter) Menard & late Philip F. Menard in Lynn, MA. and were one of 13 children. He met his wife, Elaine A. Michaud of Lawrence, MA. while living with one of his oldest brothers, Ron Menard, where Elaine, was literally, “the girl next door”. They eloped in Kittery, ME on October, 19. 1963, and I guess you can say the rest is history.

Nelson was a proud United States Army, Veteran. He and Elaine raised their three children in
Chester, NH. in a little one room school house, previously known as The Towle School. In 1986,
due to health reasons, he packed up his family and moved to Mesa, Arizona.

Nelson worked in construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator, and he would say he “was a
jack of all trades, master of none”. His wit and humor were unmatched. He always had a smile
on his face, regardless of how he felt. He had a passion for traveling, working on old cars (or
any car), was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and most of all he loved
spending time with his wife and family.

Nelson was pre-deceased by both his parents, three brothers, one sister, their oldest son,
Nelson Menard, II and a great grandson. He is survived by his wife, Elaine A Menard of Mesa,
AZ, his daughter, Wendy A. Menard of San Tan Valley, AZ and his son, John S. Menard (M. Leigh-
Ann (Teatro)) of Mesa, AZ., and by step mother, Ethel Menard of Manchester, NH,. They have 7
grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren, along with a very large extended family that will miss
him terribly.
