Millicent Arnette Anderson, who goes by Melle, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2023. She battled with complications of Valley fever and the flu. She was 67 years old.
It would be wrong to say that Melle lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Melle stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Melle. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.
She had a kind and friendly personality. She had a heart for giving and always went out of her way to help others. Her motto was, "Your attitude will affect your altitude in life". She enjoyed greeting and volunteering for food distribution at Rising Star Baptist church.
She retired as a budget assistant from the Department of Defense. Melle completed her Bachelors in Business Administration.
She is survived by her son William Anderson, daughter Athena Sewell, and grandson Isaiah Sewell. Her three sisters Denise Harris, Dianne Moore, Michelle Johnson as well as Dianne's husband Deacon Alvin Moore. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Melle's funeral service will be held at Rising Star Baptist church in Tucson, AZ on Friday December 1, 2023, at 11am.
