John M. McFall, 87 of Mesa, AZ, passed away June 22, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born in Palo Alto, CA and worked in the San Francisco area most of his life as a sheet metal superintendent until moving to AZ in 1985. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in New Guinea and the Philippines from 1943 to 1946. His loving wife of 44 years, Virginia preceded him in death on March 13 of this year. He is survived by his daughters Donna Chandler and Vivian (Dale) Larsen; brother William McFall Jr.; sisters Lucille Mueller and Marguarite (Nick) Abrams, grandsons Richard Perata and James (Tracy) Osborne; granddaughters Kathryn (Michael) Brass and Jennifer (Daniel) Knoblauch, great grandsons Owen Knoblauch, Coyer Brass and Elliot Knoblauch. John was also preceded in death by his mother and father Veronica Allen McFall and William McFall; brothers Gerald and Lawrence McFall, and sisters Evelyn McFall and Clara Warner. John was very active in his community until a short time before his death. He managed Sunland Village East Bingo for 16 years, played golf and enjoyed playing cards with several different groups. A memorial service will be held at Sunland Village East Auditorium, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
