John Paul Wolfe, Sr., of Mesa went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 24, 2018. He was born on September 28, 1941 in Detroit, raised on a farm in Indiana with his 2 sisters – Beth & Peggy(dec) & a brother- Tony (dec). One of his fondest memories is playing with his dogs, teasing his sisters and raising his four kids – John Jr, Bryn, Daphne & Sybil. One of his proudest family moment is “watching my children grow into independent, respectful adults and watching their achievements in work environment”.
He served in the Army (1961-1964), He did not serve in any war or conflict “except outside a bar in Junction City Kansas”.
He married the love of his life, Geraldine (Geri), on June 14, 1984. Together, they are blessed with 8 children, 15 grandchildren and countless extended family & friends. He is a kind, loving person who offered “undying love for those that let me love them”. He had a great sense of humor, loved nature and animals and passed on this appreciation to his children and extended family. John cherished his family above all else and he served as a father-figure to all who welcomed him.
He shared the love of traveling with Geri and his favorite places are White Mountain Wilderness, Mt. Rainier, Germany, Canadian Rockies and Redwoods.
John was a independent thinker and consummate inventor, held three patents and could fix just about anything! He is a firm believer in Honor, Duty, Integrity and Respect for Human Rights. His favorite saying is “Our only hope for survival is our ability to adapt”.
Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed, but his spirit lives eternal in all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 29, 2018 at Hosanna Lutheran Church & Little Palms School, 9601 E. Brown Road, Mesa, AZ 85207.
