John Edward Thompson, 90, of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away on March 20, 2018.
Visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 am at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, with a brief memorial service to follow at 11 am.
John was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 3, 1927.
John was married to Jo Ann Waldie Thompson on September 3, 1948; they were married for 69 years.
John worked as a narcotics agent for the federal government for the majority of his career. He enjoyed woodworking and was a well-known craftsman in his community.
John is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; three children, Kathy Grindstaff (Bill), Tim, and Shay Hagerman (Chuck); six grandchildren, Nikki Flaharity (Kelly), Ryan Hammer (Brandi), John Thompson, Leann Hammer, Liz Thompson, and Caleb Goosic (Ashley); seven great grandchildren; sister, Mary Thompson; and other family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Thompson; parents, Harvey and Helen Thompson; and sister, Susan Thompson.
The family of John wishes to thank the staff of Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, AZ, especially, 4 South, his nurse, Nicole, the ICU staff, and his nurse, Katlyn.
