On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Imogene Zimmerman received her call from heaven at the age of 92.

Imogene was born March 25, 1928 to Elmer and Mary Palmer.  She was the first girl in 3 generations of Palmer’s.  On June 12, 1954 she was married to David Lee Zimmerman.  They raised two sons, Terry and Thomas, and a daughter Genelle.

Imogene loved working with children.  She taught the 4th grade in public school and also was a school counselor.  She transitioned into private counseling with Dr. Kevin Leman.  The field of psycho educational assessment brought her back into working with children.

Upon retiring, she continued her testing of children while on short term mission trips to Peru, Guatemala and Suriname with her husband David.

Imogene loved music.  She played the piano and the organ and had a beautiful singing voice.  She had an amazing sense of humor and always made those around her laugh.  She was the epitome of unconditional love.

Imogene was preceded in death by her father Elmer and her mother Mary.  She is survived by her brother Erwin, her loving husband of 66 years David, her two sons Terry (Linda), Thomas (Catharine) and her daughter Genelle, her 10 grandchildren Sarah (Mo), Rachael (Jesus), Alisa (John), Talon, Cameron (Anna), Treena (Brandon), Celeese, Sophia, Franchesca and Marissa and her 6 great grandchildren Aiden, Elanore, Zoe, Emma, Malachi and Micah.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main, Mesa, Arizona from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
