Obituary

With heavy hearts, profound gratitude, and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who returned to the arms of the Lord in October 06 2026.

Born on March 7, 1948, in Chihuahua, Mexico, she was a true trabajadora from the time she was just a little girl—fuerte, dedicada, and completely devoted to her roots and her loved ones. Guided by a steadfast Catholic faith and a deep, lifelong love for God, she possessed a quiet strength that anchored her entire family. In the 1970s, she embarked on a courageous journey as the very first pioneer of our family to immigrate to the United States. Through her tireless labor and selfless sacrifices, she opened doors for generations, securing citizenship, opportunity, and a bright future for those who followed in her footsteps.

While establishing her life in the United States, she met her soulmate and lifelong dance partner, Fidel Peñunuri Jr. The two were united in holy matrimony on April 12, 1977, building a home filled with amor, bendiciones, and deep devotion. Together, they raised three cherished children: Donna M Jimenez, Fidel " Pino" Peñunuri III, and Nicomedez "Nico" Peñunuri.

Her life was defined by selfless service and unconditional love. She never put herself first, siempre cuidando a los demás con la mayor humildad. To cross the threshold of her home meant you were family, and you were immediately cared for and fed. Her signature belief was simple and generous: "Si come uno, comen dos, y si comen tres, comen cuatro." Her heart knew no judgment; she offered pure empathy, warmth, and understanding to everyone who crossed her path.

Beneath her sweet, nurturing nature was a hilariously quick-witted spirit. She was a natural comedian and a total goofball in family photos, often catching everyone off guard with witty jokes and hilarious remarks the last thing anyone expected coming from such a sweet, traditional lady.

Above all, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the absolute center of her universe. Sus niños eran su adoración entera, and in her eyes, they could do no wrong.

She was preceded in death by her beloved family members who welcomed her home, and is survived by her devoted husband, Fidel; her three children, Donna, Fidel III, and Nico; as well as a rich legacy of adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
