Gerald L. Prunty 1928- 2017
Gerald L. Prunty, 88, formerly of Colchester, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 21st at a nursing facility near his home in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Gerald was born July 19th, 1928, the son of Morris and Marie Prunty in Denver, Illinois.
Mr. Prunty was a Veteran and served two years in the military in Europe following World War II.
Gerald L. Prunty retired in 1994 after 25 years as President of First Federal Bank. He continued to serve as Chairman of the Board and a director for many years. He was responsible for establishing additional First Federal branch offices in Quincy, Macomb, Mount Sterling and Bushnell Illinois. He also served on Heartland Bank and Trust Company Advisory Board.
He is past President of Macomb Area Industrial Development Corp., Colchester Area Business Assn., The Western Illinois Savings and Loan Council, Bushnell Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Bushnell Illinois Rotary Club, and he served as a Director of Yetter Manufacturing Co. of Colchester, Illinois for 25 years.
He is survived by Patricia Prunty, his wife of 67 years, his son Jerry W. Prunty, his daughter in law Judy K. Prunty, three grand daughters and nine great grand children. All surviving family members live close by in Arizona.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and all five of his siblings.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 29th at Mountain View Funeral Home located at 7900 E. Main St. in Mesa, Arizona.
