On November 2nd, 2018, Elizabeth Steadman Jordan shed her broken body and gained a perfect one, joining her beloved husband Ron, parents, other family members, beloved pets, and many friends in heaven. “Liz” was born in West St. Paul, Minnesota on April 26, 1937, and graduated Sibley High School in 1955. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Colorado State in Greeley, and taught Physical Education in Oakland, California before moving to Duluth, Minnesota to teach at Denfeld High School.  This is where she met and married Ronald Bill Jordan, who was the love of her life for over 50 years.  Together, they lived in Duluth, and later Knife River, Minnesota and sailed throughout the Apostle Islands and Great Lakes while raising a family. Liz shared her love of nature and physical activity with her children, teaching them to ski, swim, run, sail, and ride horses.  She was happiest outdoors, with the sun in her face and the wind in her hair. She was active in Junior League of Duluth and helped Ron as they owned Hanson’s Ace Hardware in the West End of Duluth. Liz is preceded in death by her husband Ron, son Jeff, and parents Pauline Fletcher Steadman and Sherwood Reed Steadman. She is survived by her sister Jean Steadman Remo of West Lafayette, Indiana, her daughters Barbara Kalligher of Epping, New Hampshire and Catherine Jordan Kemmerling of Hedgesville, West Virginia, granddaughters Jennifer Paine and Rebecca Harnack, both of Minnesota, as well as a niece and nephew, other grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Liz’s ‘la joie de vivre’, sense of humor, wisdom, positive tenacious attitude, and kind smile will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held graveside in Minnesota in the spring.  Memorials in lieu of flowers to Canine Companions for Independence, www.cci.org or send checks to 286 Middle Island Road, Medford, NY 11763.
