Darlene Ruth Connin Fritz, 90 years of age, quietly entered her heavenly home on April 14, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in life’s struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Darlene was born to the late Elmer and Ola Connin, a Pilgrim Holiness pastor and a homemaker respectively, in Defiance, Ohio on January 9,1928. She was immersed in the body of Christian believers that would be her lifelong support from an early age. Darlene was very involved at Tempe First Church of the Nazarene acting as Missionary President, participating in the Women’s Bible Study, and teaching at the church pre-school for several years.
Darlene was blessed with a loving family. She married Robert L. Fritz on January 31,1948. Darlene raised her children with patience, discipline and respect. From the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to follow biblical precepts.
Darlene was a homemaker at heart. She was kind and always available to listen and offer her knowledge of the scriptures along with sharing her own growth experiences in her walk with Christ. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who are comforted in the fact that she is celebrating with her Savior.
Darlene is survived by her children Kathie (Gary) Widger, Kay (Stephen) Campbell, Robert (Tara Donnelly) Fritz; grandchildren, G J (Keri) Widger, Kara (Aaron) McKee, Caleb (Lori) Campbell, Sarah (Dustin) Barnes, and Hannah (Jeremy) Bailey; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Fritz.
A viewing and celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ from 2-4 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 with graveside services at 10 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Her grandson, Pastor Caleb Campbell will officiate the service.
