Adrian Layton Hansen, 96, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Hansen was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Hansen was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and served in World War II as part of the 17th Anti-Aircraft Battalion on islands in the Pacific. He later attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design before he and his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where he created a career as a landscape artist and teacher. Preceded in death by his son, Craig Stephen Hansen, and wife, Georgia Fae Hansen, he is survived by his two daughters, Gail Verbil (Thomas) and Kay Fontana (David), sister-in-law Cheryl Zimmerman, five grandchildren, Jason Fontana (Natasha), Jamie Galea (Carmelo), James Verbil, Jessica Fontana (Brandon), and Jennifer Alarcon (Ricky), eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 17th at 10:30 am at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ.
