I’m sad for the loss of Aunt Margaret, and have fond memories of staying weekends at her and Uncle Rons house in the valley in Yuma. I have had many great times uncle ron giving me beers and Margaret jumping all over Ron..Telling him she was going to tell Doyle.. I don’t think she ever did..

Aunt Margaret was such a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. I am so glad I was able to see her and visit with her this past January. I will alway’s remember her and Uncle Doyle coming together and singing at my Dads funeral, they showed there brother how much they loved him by giving him this one last gift. Dearest Ron, Judy and Linda and families, We were so sorry to learn of Aunt Margaret’s death. Please know our prayers and love are with all of your family in the days ahead. I will always treasure the love and kindnesses both she and Uncle Ron gave us when both Dad and Mom died. I don’t know if you know that your Dad and Mom would call me every so often to make sure we were alright; and after Uncle Ron died, she continued to periodically call me to make sure we were okay. I think it concerned her that my Ron had heart problems, too. She was the last of our older generation; and the last person to call me “Donna Lou” with her wonderful accent. I have such good memories of Aunt Margaret. We first met when Uncle Ron was in the army and she and her girls stayed with us in Ohio. In Yuma, we stayed with them when we first moved there. I remember her tuna fish salad sandwiches and sweet tea, her great laugh, her love for her children and her kindness to us all. She made an impact in my life, and I know she’s with Uncle Ron and my own parents now.

I have so many wonderful things I could say. I knew this Hero of our greatest generation best in my childhood as I joined the military at age 18 and served a career of 24 years and didn’t have much off time to visit in the later years. He was always there for my family and was a wonderful provider for his own family. When my father, Also a WWII veteran who served on the USS Indianapolis before she sank, died in the VA hospital here in San Diego, He made a special effort to make sure I spent a very special last moment with my father, breaking hospital rules. All my memories of “Uncle Dink” were good mentoring moments. He made sure I know the value of freedom and good will. Showed me to be respectful of my elders, showed me why is was important to remember our history, as a family and as a nation. I was 9 when my father died and he was there to make sure that I understood I was now the man of the house because my mother was in ill health fighting cancer and couldn’t do the mothering that was needed.
With the story above, this should remind us all that we are loosing our greatest generation all to fast now and soon there will be no more. We should all take the time to make sure we pay proper respect to these great people who have done so much for our country. We need to sit down with these warriors and hear the story of “how is was” to remind us of where we come from. Especially now with so much turmoil in our nation. We must never forget what we are all about and what sacrifices were made. We need to tighten or belts and put our big boy pants on and follow their example, the example of this great man, A warrior of the greatest generation. As I am writing this, for me this is a very heavy moment as I have never married and have no children and with that, I am the last of the great line of greatest generation. I am, The last Porcupile! I am honored and proud that “MY UNCLE DINK” will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

Jamie, when I think back on when we met, the first thing I remember is Pete and I running into you and Al at a restaurant somewhere. You were wearing a really great red dress, and you and Al looked perfect together. After that, I remember taking care of Alfie and David – the twins. What fun! They sure kept us laughing. You would come to my house after work to pick up Alfie and we would talk about raising kids and everything else that crossed our minds. I always loved what a caring and compassionate mother you were, not to mention what a good friend you were to me. Afterwards, even though we might not see each other for awhile, we could always pick up right where we left off. I consider your family a part of my family and feel blessed that you are my friend.

My connection is:

My maternal great-grandparents are Eustache Pitre(Peters) and Mary Anna Forcier. Mary Anna is the daughter of Joseph Forcier and Philomene Eveline Leminau LeBlanc. I only know the first name of Philomene’s mother, which is Edessa.

If anyone in the family is interested, I would love to share the information I have obtained, along with family photos and would be thrilled to fill in gaps that I have in our family tree.

i loved him then, still do now, and always will. he is always in my thoughts of how great of a great grandpa he was. he yanked out one of my teeth and i didn’t even know it until he showed it to me. i hear great stories about him and when my dad had gone camping up to Rock Creek with him and a few other boys in our famile and when the bear went through their camp, grandpa Clark ran into his truck leaving everyone else. there is so much more to this great man, but way too many to name and list. i love you and you are always in my thoughts!!

Ellen attended nearly all of our Genealogy Club meetings. She and I were often the only persons to go the the Mesa Regional Family History Center. We generally researched our own family lines, but on occasion I helped her since she had limited computer experience.

I didn’t know of her art. She certainly was a well rounded person. It wsa a delight to have known her.

Wally was a great friend. For almost 20 years we were part of a cooking group with he and Karen. He also wrote the liner notes for two of my CDs. He taught me more about life, the University, learning, good wine, and great conversation than I can ever mention. I miss him already. He was always interested in life, learning, and living! Wally and Karen are great people. Wally’s love of life was evident in every aspect of his life. I can still recall the constant twinkle in his eye at the mischief we used to create in the ‘Strutters tour when he and Karen were the faculty advisors on one leg of the tour. Mom I love you and miss you. I was so hard for me to see you suffer especially these last few weeks in the hospital. It gave me such a feeling of peace as we were able to put you into the Hospice House the last week of your life. You seemed so much more at peace and I was able to realize it was time for you to go back home to live with your Heavenly Father.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. There is a void that cannot be replace. The life insurance we buy is really preparation for death. But the life insurance Jehovah God offers is the destroying of death itself and all the things we can think of that causes it. I am so sorry to hear of Dean’s death. I worked with Dean at the IRS for many years and knew him well. I replaced him as a “Computer Audit Specialist” when he retired and it was Dean who inspired me to become a CAS. I knew of his passion for golf (since that was all he talked about) and his desire to play every course in America.

The death notice did not state an internment fact. Was burial to be in Mesa, or back in Cincinnati, or was cremation involved? Is any recent photograph of Margaret available? I know how hard it is to loose one’s parents and how alone you suddenly feel. Although Aunt Janet and I did not see each other often, she was my Godmother and I kept a very special place in my heart for her. I was the little flower girl at her wedding and always felt a special love for her. I too will miss knowing that she is there.
I am glad that you are surrounded by family to help you through this unexpected time. I know she loved you more than anything. We now need to know that she is with her parents and brothers and sisters that have gone on ahead of her. She is at peace.

I remember great times staying over with my brother Keven at Uncle Ben’s and Aunt Virginia’s home. My mom (Mae) told us when we were little that if something ever happened to her and Dad, that she wanted us to go live with Ben and Virginia because she knew they would love us and take care of us.
